Tangol presents a word puzzle grid inspired by the classic Sator Square puzzle. Players are tasked with spelling words horizontally and vertically across the grid in order to uncover each puzzle's solution, providing a challenge that exceeds initial expectations.

Each puzzle within the game is procedurally generated, offering thousands of unique word variations to keep players engaged. Should players find themselves stuck, an in-game hint feature allows them to lock a letter in place to aid progress.

Players can test their cognitive abilities across three distinct play modes, encompassing grid sizes ranging from 3x3 to 6x6:

<li>Endless Mode: This mode includes assist guides to help players unearth correct words and placements, ensuring an inexhaustible array of puzzles for enthusiasts of the classic Tangol experience.</li>
<li>Advanced Mode: With triple the points but lacking assists, this mode offers relentless challenge across endless levels.</li>
<li>Timed Mode: Players must complete each puzzle swiftly to accumulate substantial points.</li>
</ul>

The game additionally features a Feats system, allowing players to monitor their progress by displaying achievements such as best times and total grids played.

Tangol is supported by advertisements; however, users have the option to remove ads for a nominal fee of $1.99.

<li>Tangol! Solitaire (Holidays 2020): An upcoming Solitaire mode will grant players the ability to craft words of their choice within the grid for high-scoring opportunities. Beginning with a single letter in the center, they can expand their words accordingly.</li>
